Ministry of Emergency Situations Takes Control of Mountain Rescue Service
Baku / 06.01.18 / Turan: It seems the first correct conclusions from the tragedy with the loss of three mountaineers in the area of Mount Tufan have begun to be realized. The rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Measures has invited rescuers from Austria to search the lost climbers. The Austrian rescuers have examined the scene of the incident.
The Austrian rescuers will also conduct trainings for rescue service officers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan with a view to improving their qualifications. The first training will take place in the area of the loss of the three climbers.
This event will be of great importance for providing security in the mountains in the future. Experts in the field of mountain climbing believe that in this area there are serious problems. Despite the holding of climbing ascents, the Control and Rescue Service in Azerbaijan has not been established yet.
It is important that such a structure should act as part of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which has enough resources and equipment. -02D-
