Siyazan prisoners begin hunger strike
Baku / 20.06.17 / Turan:On June 21 "Siyazan prisoners" will start a hunger strike, protesting against unfair prosecution. About this on his page in facebook lawyer Elchin Sadygov wrote. According to him, the convicts announced their intention to start a hunger strike after today's meeting on their case in the Sumgait Court of Appeal. In this case, 11 people have been arrested for participating in protest rallies on January 12 and 13, 2016, against raising the price of flour and other food products. This happened after the second devaluation of manat.
The arrested were accused of causing damage to property of others, hooliganism, illegal storage of weapons, violation of public order, illegal drug trafficking and violence against the police. In March of this year, the Guba court convicted the accused of imprisonment from 2 to 6 years. Today, the appellate court has postponed consideration of the complaint for an indefinite period of time. -03B-
