The star actor of the film on the Hojali tragedy lives in poverty [Video]
A documentary by Lithuanian filmmakers "Endless Corridor" is being screened in different cities of the world on the eve of the 24th anniversary of the Khojali tragedy. One of the main characters of this film, Valeh Huseynov, a musician from Khojaly, lost in the massacre eight members of his family, including his wife, and a survived in the Armenian captivity.
Today this man, one of the survivors of Khojaly tragedy, lives in poverty. His monthly salary is no more than 150 manats. Despite the benefits, Valeh and his family (three children, wife and elderly parents) are in need.
«I earned a little by playing at weddings, but the money was not enough. My father was ill, and I had to take a bank loan to do the surgery. I did not have any other income. To pay out the loan, I had to take bigger loan, and now I am in debt," said Valeh.
With the help of friends was held a charity concert to raise some money. However, the lack of other income and my child's illness forced me to take loans again.
After the screening of the film in Turkey in 2015, one of the famous companies in Azerbaijan gave him a job, but today s even that company refused to support him. Before the anniversary of the tragedy Valeh asked to give him a part of his salary in advance, to carry out the traditional commemoration for the dead relatives. In response, the head of the company called him ungrateful and unworthy man.
"Today the story of my life, my tragic fate is being screened all over the world. It takes a lot of money, but my appeals with request to support, remain unanswered. The memory of the victims of my fellow citizens, neighbors and relatives is sacred and necessary. Do those who survived after the Khojali tragedy worth nothing? Is it possible to direct part of money allocated for the recognition of the Khojaly tragedy for supporting the victims of the tragedy? There are dozens, maybe hundreds people like me," said Valeh.
The constant need and stress seriously spoiled the health of Valeh who is suffering from severe form of diabetes. That is why last weekend Valeh health sharply deteriorated, and he was placed to the intensive care ward. Doctors could hardly help him.
"I do not know what will happen to me tomorrow, but it seems that we are not wanted, » bitterly noted Valeh.
* Valeh Huseynov is one of those fighters who managed to rescue from Khojali a few dozen of people, but lost his wife. Rescuing women and children, he was taken prisoner, where he was subjected to savage torture, and miraculously survived. He was exchanged two months later. -02В-

In a bit of historic irony, powerful oligarch Bidzina Ivanishvili has managed to inspire rare unity across Georgia’s cacophonous political scene twice in his life. His money and influence forged the broad-based consolidation of opposition forces that brought him to power in 2012, and now, 12 years and three electoral cycles later, a similar pattern of opposition convergence could send him packing.
