Fifth International Festival in Gabala
The Fifth International music festival opened today in Gabala. According to the Ministry of Culture, the festival will last until August 6. Its members are the musicians from Azerbaijan, art groups and soloists from Russia, Turkey, UK, USA, Italy, France, Korea, Israel, Lithuania, Cuba and Kazakhstan. Among them are such well-known names as Yuri Bashmet, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Boris Berezovsky, Vadim Repin, Oxana Yablonsky, etc.
* The Gabala Festival of classical music, as well as jazz and mugham, has been held since 2009 every summer in the city of Gabala.
Musical performances are in the open air in the chamber and concert halls. Performers and orkestras from around the world take part in the Festival. Every two years there is an international piano competition.
The fourth festival was held from July 22 to August 5, 2012, bringing together 350 musicians from 10 countries of the world. -16D-
