Baku Steel Company Reduces Selling Prices by 18%
In fact, the only producer of building bars in Azerbaijan announces reduction in selling prices for the whole range of products by 18%. Nevertheless, local retail prices for metal will be 30% higher than, for example, in neighboring Turkey.
Baku Steel Company Ltd has reduced selling prices for semi-finished products, construction rebars, angles, channels and wire rods from 720 to 590 manat ($ 719) per 1 ton. At the same time, the company stated that it is ready to export products.
According to the State Customs Committee, construction fittings were exported at the average price at $ 558 / ton in the first half of this year. In this case the retail price of the goods was $ 1,000 - $ 1,100 per ton. Baku Steel Company opposes import of fittings, referring to the availability of sufficient capacity in the country.
Note that rebar prices in Turkey in June and October 2014 ranged between $ 570 - $ 550 per 1 ton. --08B--
