Conflicting Figures of Employment Statistics
The State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan made public the data on new jobs for the first half of this year.
These data suggest that during this period there were created 58.2 thousand new jobs, of which 40.4 thousand are constants.
It is noteworthy that these data are at variance on the number of employed from January to June this year. According to SCS, as of the first of July this year, the number of employed was 4,388.6 thousand people. This is 13.4 thousand more than was recorded at the end of 2011.
Thus, it remains a mystery, where the remaining 45,000 new jobs are. SCS recognizes that data on new jobs may not always coincide with the actual numbers of employed workers.
However, it is argued that in the second state program of social and economic development since 2009 there have been created 299 thousand new jobs, of which 219.9 thousand are supposedly fixed. 70.1% of the jobs are in the regions. For non-state sector there is classified 87.8% of the new jobs.
Recall that in the first state program of development of regions the government reported on the opening of almost 700 thousand new jobs in five years. - 08B-
