Tragic accident statistics on production
In 2013, 155 accidents were recorded in production. State structures recorded a decline of this tragic trend.
According to the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, last year in accidents in production 71 people were killed and 120 people injured. The number of dead and injured for the year decreased by 13% and 24% respectively .
The construction sector is still one of the most dangerous areas of professional activity. In 2013, there were 51 recorded cases of emergency , which killed 27 people .
Such statistics is not accidental. It clearly shows that the construction and repair of houses in the capital is carried out with serious violations of the rules of technical safety. Typically, workers work on the facades, using makeshift scaffolding system without preventive protection or insurance.
Occupational safety and health in Azerbaijan is regulated by the Labor Code of the Azerbaijan Republic. Controlling authority is the State Labor Inspectorate (SLI).
Routine checks of labor protection in enterprises are held once a year. But for receiving complaints of violation of labor legislation from employees, SLI organizes unscheduled inspections.
Substantial labor inspection check is to control the software and hardware, the working conditions, the equipment, the jobs, the compliance with safety and so on. -08B-
