Carpet Museum director awarded with French order
Baku/16.02.22/Turan: A ceremony of presenting French Order of Chevalier of Culture and Literature to Director of the Carpet Museum Shirin Melikova took place at the French Embassy in Azerbaijan on February 15.
French Ambassador Zakari Gross spoke about Melikova's contribution to the development of cultural ties between the two countries. In particular, she was the curator of 20 exhibitions and the author of 11 monographs and articles, and actively teaches the current and future generations the basics of culture.
The Ambassador thanked Melikova for her fruitful work in strengthening cultural ties between the two countries and presented her with an order.
In the response speech Shirin Melikova expressed her gratitude for the high award as stressing the great role of the French Embassy in the development of cultural contacts.
It has to be kept in mind that several major exhibitions and events devoted to the material and spiritual culture of Azerbaijan have been held in France in recent years. Concerts, festivals with the participation of figures of culture and art have been organized. -16D-
