Facebook exposed Armenian fake about allegedly downed Azerbaijani helicopter
Baku / 30.09.20 / Turan: The author of the publication gave out an image of a helicopter shot down in Syria for the destruction of an Azerbaijani helicopter in Nagorno-Karabakh. This is the conclusion of the Reuters Fact Check project.
The publication was marked by the Facebook administration as unreliable, the "Caucasian Knot" reported.
The videos of the helicopter engulfed in flames were published not only on Facebook but also on Twitter. During the day, this fake collected hundreds of likes from Armenian users.
It was claimed that this was an Azerbaijani helicopter shot down in Karabakh. In reality, this video is a copy of the well-known incident in Syria. The helicopter was shot down in February over the city of Nairab, Reuters reported on September 29.
The article contains a link to the video from which the screenshot was taken. The post was made on 11 February.
Facebook's management pays for the ReutersFactCheck project, in which employees of a well-known agency check the accuracy of photos and videos that are uploaded by social network users.
Based on the conclusions of the project participants, Facebook marks certain posts as fake or lowers their priority so that as few users as possible see them. –06D--
