Ilham Aliyev announced a solution to the problem of unpaid loans
Baku/25.02.19/Turan: Azerbaijan"s GDP increased by 3% in January 2019, and this is the highest figure in the last 2-3 years, President Ilham Aliyev said at today's meeting on economic reforms. According to him, in 2019 economic growth will continue at a high rate. The macroeconomic situation is stable, the rate of manat is also stable for more than a year. Then the president pointed to a sharp increase in budget revenues. In January 2019, the tax authorities collected overplan 80 million manat, and customs authorities - 20 million manat. Total revenues to the state budget increased by 105 million manat in January.
Speaking about the steps for social protection of the population, Aliyev indicated that the number of martyr families to whom monetary compensation in 11,000 manat would be paid was increased from 9,500 to 12,200. At the same time, monthly benefits in this category were increased from 242 to 300 manat. Last year 5,900 families of displaced people received apartments, then this year 6-7 thousand families will be provided with housing. A family of martyrs this year will receive 800 apartments. In total, today 6,500 martyrs' families are provided with apartments by the state.
From March 1, the minimum wage increased from 130 to 180 manat, which affected 600 thousand people. The minimum pensions have been increased from 116 to 160 manat, which will improve the pension coverage of 223 thousand people. Aliyev touched upon the decree signed by him on the simplification of issuing permits for the commissioning of new buildings. There are 400 multi-storey buildings in Baku, where 60 thousand families live. The owners of these apartments for many years could not get acts of ownership of real estate. The decree will solve this problem. In addition, over 100 thousand students increased scholarships.
"Another issue that concerns citizens is problem loans," the president continued. According to him, this issue has already been discussed at the state level since last year. The relevant instructions were given to the members of the government, a package of proposals is being prepared. The working group has been working on proposals for 2 months. Aliyev expressed hope that this issue will soon find its solution. "Today I just want to announce that this issue is already at the stage of summarizing," the president noted.
In addition, according to Aliyev, work on a "social package" has been going on for several months. Some steps have already been implemented. Following the increase in the minimum pensions, scholarships, the minimum wage will be significantly increased and benefits that will affect 500 thousand people. In total, the implementation of social initiatives of the state will benefit 2 million 200 thousand people.
