MIA and State Security Service of Georgia on Abduction of Mukhtarli
Baku / 05/31/17 / Turan: The Georgian Interior Ministry issued a statement in connection with the abduction of the Azerbaijani journalist Afghan Mukhtarly, Georgia Online reported.
"In connection with the case of the Azerbaijani journalist Afghan Mukhtarli, the Georgian Interior Ministry launched an investigation under Article 143 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which implies the illegal suppression of freedom.
In parallel, communication is conducted with the Azerbaijani side. As soon as factual circumstances are established, the public will be informed in detail," the statement said.
However, the head of the State Security Service of Georgia, Vakhtang Gomelauri, spoke oddly, saying that Mukhtarly was detained on the so-called Green Border strip, where people do not need a passport.
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs started the investigation and appealed to the Azerbaijani side, and official statements will be made from there on what happened and where he was detained." As the Azerbaijani side states, he was detained at the crossing of the so-called Green Border strip, and not at a checkpoint, i.e., in a place, where he did not need a passport," Gomelauri said.
Meanwhile, according to the journalist of the newspaper Chronicle + Maka Mosiashvili, Mukhtarly was taken out through a border point in the Lagodekhi district. This refutes the assertions of Homelauri, who openly lies.
The words of the chief of state security of Georgia are designed for idiots who believe that somewhere in the world the border can be crossed without a passport. -0-

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan rejected Ilham Aliyev's demands for Yerevan to stop acquiring weapons. "Armenia has acquired and will continue to acquire weapons solely for the purpose of self-defense. Over 200 square kilometers of our sovereign territory is under the control of Azerbaijan. And even to regain these territories, we do not intend to consider military action, but rather a process of demarcation. So, we are buying weapons and have no intention of sending them back," he stated.
