"Musavat" party issued a statement condemning the arrest of the deputy chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Fuad Gahramanli on charges of anti-state calls and inciting interreligious fight.
"Musavat" notes that Gahramanli is charged with similar publications in the social network Facebook.
The statement authors regard it as intolerance of the authorities to the freedom of expression and the continuation of large-scale repression in Azerbaijan. The party called on the authorities to put an end to the persecution of dissidents and fulfill its international obligations in the field of human rights.
"Musavat" demanded the release of Gahramanli and other political prisoners.-05D-
