Not only Ukraine but also Russia is preparing for offensive in south
Baku/30.07.22/Turan: According to Russian sources, Russia is pulling forces in the Kherson direction in expectation of counterattack by Ukrainian forces.
The telegram-channel "Insider" reports that supplies of tanks and ammunition are being delivered to the northwest of Kherson. 32 sabotage and reconnaissance groups are also being formed in Crimea. They, together with paratroopers, are transferred to the border with the Mykolaiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
The 106th Tula Airborne Division, whose officers have already arrived at the site, is being prepared for transfer to this region.
In total, 14-15 amphibious battalion tactical groups with a total strength of up to 8,500 people are concentrated in the Southern direction. It is planned to increase their grouping to 11.000.
In the last week alone, up to six battalion-tactical groups of paratroopers were transferred from Mariupol to Novaya Kakhovka. Troops are being transferred from Melitopol to Kherson to direct pontoon crossings. Two engineering and sapper tactical groups are already in place to force the Southern Bug river.
There is an intensified formation of new artillery divisions. Thus, 16 units of large-caliber 207-millimeter "Peony" systems have already been delivered. At the same time, ammunition depots are no longer concentrated in one place.
It can be concluded that the grouping of the Russian Federation is not defensive, but offensive. And it has two vectors of movement - to Nikolaev and Krivoy Rog.
The south will be the direction of the main strike of the Russians, while in the remaining areas, including Donbass, they will switch to "active defense," the publication believes. -02B-
