Yagublu and Mamedov - prisoners of conscience
Arrest of Tofig Yagublu and Ilgar Mamedov is purely a political order that is totally unjustified from a legal point of view. This was stated by the participants of today's press conference in the office of the party Musavat.
The Chief of Staff of Musavat Arif Hajili said Yagublu and Mamedov did not attend and could not participate in the riots in Ismayilli. They arrived there after the event began and did not participate in illegal actions, he said.
The leader of the People’s Party Panah Hussein, the head of the East-West Expert Center Arastun Orujlu, a member of the movement REAL Azer Gasimov and the head of the Mejlis (Council) of Musavat Azer Samadbayli noted that the investigation did not provide any evidence of the charges - organization and provision of disturbances and resistance to authorities.
It was also noted that in the near future there will be created a committee to protect the rights of the arrested and it will decide to hold protests, including a national rally. These issues will be considered at a special meeting of the Public Chamber, which will take place tomorrow.
The daughter of arrested Tofig Yagublu, Nargiz stated that the arrest of her father, and before that of her sister, Nigar, will not break the will of the family and the fight for truth and justice will continue. "Our family will fight to the end, you cannot break us," she said, referring to Ilham Aliyev. -03B-
