Cases of the accused on the Ganja events are brought to court
Baku / 03.12.18 / Turan: The investigation against a group of people (22 people) involved in the riots on July 10, 2018 in Ganja, which resulted in the death of two police officers, completed. The case was sent to court.
An investigation team with the participation of officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Security Service and the Prosecutor General"s Office found that Maarif Hajiyev and Khayal Gafarov, as well as radical religious views Shahlar Rzayev, Rashad Beyukkishiyev, Kyamal Guliyev, entered into a criminal conspiracy with other persons through social networks and personal meetings. They called for violence and riots in front of the Ganja administration building on July 10 around 8:00 p.m.
The organizers and active participants of these events Gafarov, Ibrahimov and Rzayev were found with hand grenades cartridges for machine guns, drugs in large quantities, according to a joint report of the Interior Ministry, the State Security Service and the Prosecutor General.
Preliminary investigation of the accused under Article 220.1. On November 30, the investigation was completed in relation to another group of persons - Khayal Gafarov, Kamal Guliyeva, Raul Suleymanov, Ulvi Hasanov, Samira Ibrahimov, Ali Rzayev, Vugar Allahverdiyev, Rauf Gurbanzade, Mireshgin Seyidov, Kamal Mamedtagiyev and Gadir Huseynov. In addition to these Articles, they are also charged under the Article 228.1 (illegal arms trafficking), 234.4.3 (illegal drug trafficking). Cases are sent for consideration to the Ganja Serious Crimes Court.
The riots in Ganja occurred a week after the July 3 assassination attempt on the then head of the city, Elmar Veliyev, who was wounded.
The reason for the assassination was the serious dissatisfaction of the residents of Ganja with rudeness and arbitrariness on the part of the head of the city, insulting remarks to the citizens. -06D-
