Citizens of Iran are detained in the Caspian Sea
Baku/26.07.18/Turan: Azerbaijani border guards detained two Iranian citizens who violated the country's maritime borders in the Caspian Sea, announced the press center of the State Border Service. According to the department, on July 24 at about 11.30 pm in the southern direction of the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian, a patrol ship found a fast moving object from Iran that violated the state border of Azerbaijan.
The moving object was a motor boat "Liner", equipped with a Yamaha-200 motor. Persecution of violators lasted for three hours. At around 02:45 near the Narimanabad settlement of the Lankaran region, the violators were detained. In the boat were Iranian citizens Ramazani Omid and Rahimpur Rza; and one kilo of opium, one five-shot rifle 12-caliber "Magnum" and cartridges were confiscated form Rahimpur. In fact, the Investigative Department of the State Border Service file a lawsuit under the relevant Articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. -06D--

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. The invitation, delivered by Member of the European Parliament Michael Bloss at the COP29 climate conference, comes as Ibadoglu remains under house arrest and prohibited from leaving Azerbaijan.
