New Rules to Help Tackle the Registration of Alien Migrants
On March 5, Milli Majlis adopted amendments to the RA Law "On documents of stateless persons and foreigners staying in Azerbaijan more than 30 days" and "On the registration of residence."
The experts accepted these changes unanimously. Commenting on the news for Turan, the head of the Migration Center Aliovsat Aliyev said that changes in the laws are relevant to the host country and foreign guests will be free of red tape.
While the previous version of Article 11 (Alien registration at the place of residence) of the Law of Azerbaijan "On the registration of residence" required a visitor to complete his tourist paperwork and the host body, (hostels, hotels, motels and other establishments) were engaged only in the technical side of the problem, now the situation has changed. Now there will not be "orphan" foreigners and the government will more easily track the flow of guests entering the country.
If a foreigner who came immediately before filling an application form and presented it with the registration certificate to the administration or the dwelling owner (user), and within a day they passed documents to the relevant government agency, from April 1 the administration will do it within 3 working days.
According to Aliyev, in the amendments of March 5, the spring session (before the presidential election) will pass amendments to The Code of Administrative Offences, toughening penalties and other sanctions for Azerbaijani citizens who violate the new rules for registration of foreigners. - 17D-
