Prosecutor General�s Office Again Makes Explanations after Criticism from Deputy Zahid Oruj
Baku / 13.07.19 / Turan: The General Prosecutor"s Office on Friday made a new report in connection with the death of Aydin Gurbanov accused of the Ganja events at the Medical Institution of the Prison Service.
As stated in a press release, Gurbanov, who received treatment at the hospital of the Prison Service of the Ministry of Justice, "died despite intensive treatment" at 9:50 pm on July 9. Based on the information received by the Nizami District Prosecutor"s Office, the investigator of this structure, with the participation of the forensic scientist, representatives of the hospital and attesting witnesses, examined the ward where the deceased received treatment.
Gurbanov's body was sent to the Nizami district department of the forensic examination and pathological anatomy association at 00:20 on July 10 to find out the causes of the death. On the same day, at 10 o'clock, forensic scientists in the presence of Gurbanov's nephew Suliddin Bayramov, born in 1988, made he body's inspection. When viewed on the body of the deceased, there were no injuries or signs of damage. At 1:30 pm on the same day, the body of the deceased was transferred to his spouse and relatives.
On July 11, at 10:30, the prosecutor"s office received a preliminary conclusion of forensic examiners on the death of A. Gurbanov from the disease and at 12:00 the information was made public by the Prosecutor General"s Office and the Prison Service of the Ministry of Justice.
The repeated report of the Prosecutor General"s Office was circulated after the statement of the Milli Majlis deputy, chairman of the Board of the Center for Social Research Zahid Oruj in connection with Gurbanov's death.
The deputy stated that the law enforcement agencies made a late report on the death of the prisoner.
"In the justice system and prosecution bodies, they should have noticed attempts made by politicians against the authorities to use the prisoner's death," said Oruj.
Earlier, Gurbanov"s wife stated that he had been tortured after his arrest. According to her, after Gurbanov fell ill, he was not examined for a long time and was not provided high-quality medical care. He was diagnosed with cancer at a bad stage. Despite the incurable character of the disease, Gurbanov was not allowed to spend his last days at home. -06D-
