Protesters in front of the Ukrainian embassy demand the release of Misir Gasimli
Baku/20.09.22/Turan: Today, a rally was held in front of the Ukrainian Embassy in Azerbaijan against the unjustified persecution of a veteran of the Second Karabakh War, Misir Gasimly.
The protesters chanted the slogans “Free Misir!”, “Misir, you are not alone!” and etc.
The protesters are convinced that Gasimly, who has been in custody for 1.5 years in Ukraine, is not guilty and has been arrested on slanderous charges.
They believe that the Ukrainian court should stop the persecution of Gasimly on acquittal grounds and release him. The protesters presented their resolution to the embassy officer.
Gasimli himself during the trial stated that he was arrested on a false complaint of a Spanish citizen of Armenian nationality that he allegedly beat him. Qasimli was charged with carrying a weapon, kidnapping and beating a person. --06B--
