Relatives of the martyrs demand to rebury soldiers on the Martyrs' Alley
Baku/26.01.21/Turan: For the second day, the family members of 17 military who died in the second Karabakh war are protesting against the burial of military in an "abandoned place" in the Garadagh region on the outskirts of Baku. They demand that the victims be reburied along with the rest of the military on the second Alley of Martyrs.
Today, protesters tried to open the graves of those buried. When the marble slabs were raised, groundwater appeared which angered the parents of the victims. However, police officers did not allow further opening of the graves.
The parents stated that the bodies of 17 soldiers from the Yasamal and Nasimi regions of Baku were buried without the permission of the families in the Garadagh region on the edge of the road.
Yesterday the parents in protest blocked Tbilisi Avenue and Parliamentary Avenue near the Ministry of Defense.
The Ministry of Defense does not comment on the protests of the parents.-030В-
