Rufat Safarov may be temporarily released
Baku / 03.02.19 / Turan: It is expected that today, on February 3, the former investigator Rufat Safarov sentenced to 9 years in prison will appeal to the leadership of the Prison Service with a request to release him temporarily to freedom due to the death of his grandmother to attend the funeral ceremony.
The lawyer Bahruz Bayramov, who defends the interests of Rufat Safrov, informed Radio Azadlig about this. Both the letter and the death certificate will be sent by mail, the lawyer said. He expressed the hope that his client would be given permission to participate in the commemoration of his grandmother, who died on February 2.
Former deputy from the party "Yeni Azerbaijan", the former head of the press service of the Ministry of Defense Eldar Sabiroglu wrote on his Facebook page. He stressed that Grandfather brought up Rufat Safarov that is why it is very important for him. Turan failed to get comments in the Prison Service.
Rufat Safarov announced his leaving the prosecution system on December 20, 2015, which he severely criticized. At that time, he worked as an investigator at the Gardo Prosecutor's Office.
At the end of December 2015, he was detained for a period of 3 months. In January 2016, he was arrested on charges of taking bribes. In September 2016, the Lankaran Serious Crimes Court sentenced Rufat Safarov to nine years in prison. Rufat Safarov does not plead guilty. -0-
