Up to 400 Azerbaijani citizens remain on Dagestan border
Baku / 17.06.20. / Turan: After leaving 155 people on the eve of Azerbaijan, about 400 Azerbaijani citizens remain in the Dagestan village of Kullar, awaiting their return to their homeland. This was reported one of the residents of the tent Elshan Mukhtarov.
According to him, after clashes with the police on the night of June 16, the situation in the camp is calm.
“All we want is to return to Azerbaijan, to our families. I have been here for two months. At first, we slept on cement, then we set up a campground. The return process is slow. 100-120 people pass per week. The problem is that the selection is carried out according to incomprehensible criteria. We have been living here for two months, and they are letting in new arrivals. There must be justice,” Mukhtarov said.
When asked about the fate of those detained after clashes with the police, the man replied that 93 people had been detained. Two minor were released. “The rest, as far as we know, were given daily arrests,” Mukhtarov said. —06D-

In 2017, the Sumgayit City Court ruled to evict the Aliyev family—refugees from Gubadli (Akper, Sarvinaz, Ramil, and two other family members)—from an illegally occupied apartment in the 12th microdistrict, Building 7A, Apartment 35. The court ordered the property be returned to its rightful owner, Samaya Aliyeva. However, the Ministry of Justice intervened, citing a presidential decree from July 1, 2004, which approved a state program for improving the living and working conditions of refugees. Under this directive, refugees without alternative housing cannot be evicted until they are provided with a replacement residence by the Executive Authority.
