The film, commissioned by the Office of the Presidential Administration of Turkey OPAT, is shown in a tent located on Taksim Square, located in the center of Istanbul.
The documentary-historical film, based on a script written by OPAT, describes the resistance against occupation by the National Movement organized by Mustafa Kemal, who retired from the army after the enemy occupation of Anatolia and Thrace, and the liberation from occupation of other territories within the current limits Turkey.
The film emphasizes the great role played by the Turkish Grand National Assembly in the liberation of Turkish lands, the first meeting of which took place on April 23, 1920.
The diplomatic success achieved at the conference in Lausanne after the liberation of the entire territory of the country from occupation is also one of the main events that make up the leitmotif of the film.
In the documentary-historical film "The Road leading to the Republic", the audience in an analytical manner shows how, after the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey on October 29, 1923, despite the problems in the field of education, health care and agriculture, successes in reforms were achieved with the support of the people.
At the end of the film, it is emphasized that Turkish society will never stop caring for "independence and the republic. "Both the Turkish population and local media, as well as foreign media and guests of Istanbul showed great interest in the "Road leading to the Republic." In a world increasingly marred by the effects of climate change, art has emerged as an unexpected, yet powerful, platform for raising awareness and sparking conversations on environmental responsibility. One such endeavor is the exhibition "A Different Kind of Climate," currently on display at Kapellhaus with support from the Goethe-Institut. The timing of this exhibition is no coincidence, aligning with the upcoming COP29, the UN Climate Change Conference to be held in Baku from November 11 to 22. The exhibition seeks to engage audiences on pressing ecological issues, blending local and international perspectives.
