In the morning, January 29 , BP -Azerbaijan, operator of the offshore fields " Azeri-Chirag- Guneshli " managed to begin production within the Chirag Oil Project from the platform " West Chirag " . Turan was reported by SOCAR.
According to the source , the productivity of the first well exceeded expectations .
Note that SOCAR sanctioned the Chirag Oil Project in March 2010 . Practical project work began in June of the same year. The construction of the platform has been spent almost $ 4 billion. Up to $ 2 billion more was invested by BP and partners in offshore drilling operations.
Earlier it was planned that the production from the platform fixed between the platforms Chirag-1 and Deep Guneshli will begin in the third quarter of 2013 , and then moved to the production schedule in December . However, they did not manage to start production in the past year due to a number of objective reasons.
Due to commissioning West Chirag in 2015 BP plans to increase production at the ACG contract area. In 2014, production volumes will be somewhat reduced , as on other platforms there will be workover. And gradual production from the new platform will not be able to prevent the rate of decline. However, from next year production will increase . -12B
