Lynn Tracy
Armenian media freely interpret the statements of the US Ambassador
Baku/23.08.21/Turan: The US Ambassador to Armenia Lynn Tracy believes that the consequences of the recent war in Nagorno-Karabakh have not been overcome, and the conflict has not been resolved, since the status of Nagorno-Karabakh has not yet been determined, “Armenpress” agency reported this today. However, in the published quotations of the ambassador there are no words about the "status of Nagorno-Karabakh".
“We will work as a co-chair of the Minsk Group, striving from these positions to reduce the escalation of the situation, eliminate incidents so that the remaining issues, the post-war situation and the final settlement of the remaining tasks can be considered,” the agency quotes the ambassador.
The ambassador, who is in the Syunik region of Armenia, also said, “In July I visited one of the border regions of the Gegharkunik region, where incidents were registered. I want to make it clear that we are calling for a de-escalation of the situation in order to end the violence as soon as possible,” said Lynn Tracy.
Two days earlier, the same agency published the response of the US State Department to the inquiry of "Armenpress" about the situation in the region, calling it "a statement of the State Department."
"The United States calls for a return to substantive negotiations as soon as possible under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to achieve a long-term political settlement of the conflict," said in response to an inquiry. -02D-
