The authorities must stop repression and reach national accord - Civil Solidarity Party
Baku / 07.09.20 / Turan: The military conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the internal political situation in Azerbaijan testify to one thing - the country needs civil consent and reconciliation. This is stated in the statement of the Civil Solidarity Party.
“While rejecting the actions of the émigré circles, which are exclusively engaged in abuse, we also condemn the far-fetched accusations against the real opposition and repression against its members.
We believe that the arrest and conviction of Tofig Yagublu, a veteran of the Karabakh war, has exacerbated the already tense situation in society to the extreme. The imprisonment of a person due to a minor domestic conflict cannot be approved in any way,” the statement says.
The Party considers it unacceptable to use only punitive measures that do not agree with the authorities. "In the current situation, the authorities must take into account the opinion and reaction of civil society and, in order to achieve national solidarity, once and for all, close the issue of political prisoners," the statement said. -05D-
