Baku / 08.10.18 / Turan: Chairman of the REAL party IlgarMamedov wishes to take part in an international conference to which he has been invited.In this regard, he appealed to the Yasamal district department of performance and probation.REAL party reported, Mamedov was invited to the conference in Brussels, which was held on October 17 by deputies of the European Parliament from the Liberal Democratic Alliance for Europe (ALDE) faction.Mamedov, in his address, points to the illegality of the court decision regarding him.He asks for permission to leave the country.Previously, there were cases of providing opportunities for persons abroad who are serving a conditional sentence.In particular, human rights activist Intigam Aliyev traveled to international events.
IlgarMamedov was sentenced to 7 years in prison on charges of organizing mass riots in the city of Ismayilli in January 2013. He rejected the accusations and said that the case was falsified for political reasons. The international community recognized him as a political prisoner. Despite two decisions of the European Court of Human Rights, the authorities have long refused to release him.Only on August 13, 2018, the Sheki Court of Appeal released Mamedov on parole with a two-year probationary period.Mamedov does not agree with the verdict and intends to seek full rehabilitation. -06D-
