William Hajiyev was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment
Baku/25.07.22/Turan: The Baku Court for Serious Crimes today sentenced the former head of the executive power of the Imishli region, William Hajiyev, to 12 years of imprisonment.
According to the verdict, the property of the former head of the region worth 5 million 344.000 manats, which was previously seized, will also be confiscated.
In particular, a private house and an apartment in the Narimanov district of Baku, two apartments in the city of Khyrdalan, a country house in the village of Nardaran, cars of the brands "BMW X5", "Land Rover", "BMW 740-I", "Bentley Continental GT" are subject to confiscation.
A part of the property will be paid to the victims, the rest will go to the state treasury.
Hajiyev In his last speech Hajiyev stated that the charges against him are unfounded, and asked the court to make a fair decision.
Note that Hajiyev was detained during a special operation of the State Security Service on May 6, 2020.
He was charged with misappropriation of public funds, taking bribes, abuse of office and a number of other crimes.
Earlier, the prosecutor proposed to sentence Hajiyev to 13 years of imprisonment. -16D06-
