Baku / 17.10.20 / Turan: On October 16, the Armenian Armed Forces fired a ballistic missile from the Gubadli region of Azerbaijan occupied in 1993 into the territory of Nakhchivan. The rocket exploded in the Ordubad region of Nakhchivan, separated from the main part of the country by the territory of Armenia. There is no damage from the rocket. The Turkish Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the rocket attacks on Ordubad. The statement notes that against the background of defeats at the front, Yerevan is becoming more and more aggressive.  The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the shelling of Nakhchivan. The Autonomous Republic bordering Turkey is "the next and dangerous manifestation" of Armenia's attempts to expand the war zone.

“Yerevan ignores the agreements on the humanitarian ceasefire, committing war crimes against the civilian population. Yerevan is trying to bring the conflict to a new level. Armenia should be well aware of the consequences of its aggressive actions. Turkey was and will be in solidarity with fraternal Azerbaijan,” the document says.

According to the Kars Treaty signed in 1921 between Turkey and independent Azerbaijan, Ankara became the guarantor of the security of the defense of Nakhichevan. Turkey used this right in the early 1990s when it announced that it would not allow an invasion of Nakhchivan by Armenia.

How can Turkey react to this in the light of the treaty on the special status of Nakhchivan? (Moscow Treaty of March 16, 1921 and the Kars Treaty of October 13, 1921).

Former Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Tofig Zulfugarov answered this question to Turan.

- Pashinyan's behavior shows that he is confused, does not know how to stop the advance of the Azerbaijani army. He is desperately trying to pit Russia against Turkey.

Yerevan understands that only Russia can save the regime in Karabakh, but for this, the Armenians must provoke Turkey to retaliate against Armenia. There is a little-discussed legal conflict. The fact is that when Turkey joined NATO in the 50s, it was accepted with all its international obligations. Therefore, the question may be that Pashinyan is provoking a war between NATO and the CSTO. These attempts were unsuccessful after Russia did not react to the destruction of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces of missile launchers in Armenia aimed at Azerbaijan. Unfortunately, on the night of October 17, the Armenians launched a new missile attack on Ganja, which led to the mass death of civilians.

- The attack on Nakhchivan is the second front, which is not initiated by us. Why do Armenians need it?

- If the Armenians want to deploy a second front, then they should know that this would inevitably lead to a worsening of the position of Armenia and its surrender. It is not excluded that Azerbaijan will strike a powerful blow on the territory of Armenia to speed up the liberation of Karabakh. This could be our attack on the cities of Armenia.  In a straight line from Nakhchivan to Yerevan is about 40 km. This distance is easily overcome for many Azerbaijani missile systems. Pashinyan knows this, but continues to commit war crimes, shelling our peaceful cities with rockets. The Prime Minister of Armenia is a schizophrenic, the Armenians should hand him over to their doctors.

- What happens if Russia takes the side of Armenia? After all, they are sealed by military treaties.

- The Russian Federation will not get into the war because it does not want to fight NATO. According to the principles of this organization, other members will inevitably side with NATO member Turkey. Therefore, Pashinyan is mistaken, counting on military assistance from the CSTO.

I advise the Armenians to read the documents of the CSTO and find out that this military organization has not undertaken to help any of its participants in its aggressive, annexationist actions. The CSTO does not say that if Armenia wants to expand its territory, then other members of the organization are obliged to help it in every possible way. There is no reason to think that Russia will fight with Azerbaijan for the sake of Pashinyan's fascist aspirations. –0--
