Head of Jalilabad municipality accused of taking bribes

The General Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General has launched a criminal case against the head of the municipality of Jalilabad, Kamal Mammadov.

The investigation revealed that he extorted AZN 20,000 from a resident of Jalilabad to register a land plot of 0.4 hectares that was actually used by the man under his name. Mammadov received 5 thousand manat.

With regard to Mammadov a criminal case started under Article 311.3.3 (bribery) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, the press service of the Prosecutor General stated. -06C--
