Number of Those Wishing to Perform Hajj Declined Sharply
The Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) has extended the acceptance of applications for participation in the Hajj pilgrimage to the end of August. Turan was told by the source of CMO.
This is the second extension of the deadline. The original application deadline was extended until 31 July.
Repeated extension is due to the fact that the quota of Azerbaijan is about 150 vacancies.
The weakening of interest in the Hajj is due to increases in the cost of the tickets.
Until last year, accepting applications for Hajj began in February and ended in May.
Last year, the hajj (depending on level of service) cost 3,250 and 4,150 manats. At the same time, the quota of Azerbaijan of 2,400 people was completely filled.
This year, the reception of documents started on 11 of March. Sending pilgrims begins on 11 September.
Because of the events in the Middle East in recent years, the pilgrims are directed to the Hajj only by planes. This year, the flights will be performed by the national airline AZAL.
Since then, the cost of the Hajj (depending on the level of service) will be 4,700 and 5,750 dollars.
The exclusive right to send pilgrims belongs to CMO. -05B-

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
