Prosecutor General's Office on Causes of Sycamore Fall Accident in Sheki
Baku / 07.15.19 / Turan: The Prosecutor General's Office reported on the preliminary results of the investigation into the causes of the fall of a sycamore in Sheki on July 14, as a result of which 19 people suffered.
According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, it was found that a branch from a 34-meter tree with a diameter of 50 cm broke off from the trunk at a height of 21 meters, and, falling, broke another branch of relatively smaller diameter at a height of 17 meters. Fragments of the tree fell on the people standing under the tree.
According to the preliminary conclusion of experts, the reason for breaking off the branches from the tree trunk was adverse weather conditions.
Since July 12, the wind was constantly blowing, which was periodically accompanied by precipitation. In the morning of July 14, for 3 hours there was incessant rain. During this period, 54% of the monthly norm of precipitation fell (32 mm).
According to preliminary data, the main branch that had broken off from the tree was "healthy, did not undergo drying or any physical effects."
Samples of the wreckage were sent to the Forensic Center of the Ministry of Justice for forensic biological and trace study examinations with the participation of specialists from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources. -06D-

The court ordered the property be returned to its rightful owner, Samaya Aliyeva. However, the Ministry of Justice intervened, citing a presidential decree from July 1, 2004, which approved a state program for improving the living and working conditions of refugees. Under this directive, refugees without alternative housing cannot be evicted until they are provided with a replacement residence by the Executive Authority.
