The court approved ban on the journalist�s leaving the country
Baku / 07.02.19 / Turan: The Baku Court of Appeal did not change the decision of the district court to ban journalist AnarMamedov from leaving the country. This decision was made in response to the journalist's complaint against the decision of the district court. This journalist reported himself.
According to him, the complaint was considered under the chairmanship of Judge FaikGasimov without the participation of the journalist and his lawyers. The court found the decision to ban the journalist from leaving the country legal. AnarMammadov said he was going to file a complaint with the European Court.
Criminal.az website editor AnarMammadov was banned from leaving the country in 2018. The journalist considers it illegal, arguing that the ban is related to his professional activities, and he is being discriminated against.
Since 2013, Azerbaijan has imposed a sing on leaving the country in respect of more than 10 journalists. The journalists filed a complaint, but the local courts did not satisfy them, 9 journalists filed a complaint with the European Court: NatikJavadli, Khadija Ismail, AynurImranova, GulerMehdizade, IzoldaAgayeva, AinuraHeydarova, AytenAlekperova, AynurGanbarova, AytajAhmedova.
