The number of Russian tourists visiting Azerbaijan exceeded 32% of the total
Baku/23.08.23/Turan: In the first seven months of 2023, 1 million 143.6 thousand foreigners visited Azerbaijan and this is 37.4% more than the same period last year, the message of the State Statistics Committee of the country.
Most of the tourists came from Russia - 32.8%, 18.2% - from Turkey, 7.4% - from Iran, 4.9% - from India, 4.7% - from Georgia, 3.9% - from Saudi Arabia, 2.4% - from Kazakhstan, 2.3% - from Pakistan, 2.1% - from the UAE and other countries.
It is reported that the number of tourists from China has increased by 8.3 times, but it is not specified exactly how many. It is also said that the number of tourists from Turkmenistan increased 3.8 times, from India – 2.6 times, from Belarus – 2 times, from Uzbekistan – 1.9 times, from Kazakhstan – 1.8 times, from Russia - 1.7 times, from Israel by 44.2%, from the USA by 38.7%., from Georgia by 34.5%, from the UK by 29.2% and so on.
The number of tourists from the CIS countries amounted to 477.1 thousand people, from the EU countries - 57.2 thousand people, from the Persian Gulf Countries - 185.4 thousand people. 71.1% of tourists arrived by air, 27.6% - by rail and road, 1.3% - by sea. ---0--
