Corporate market grew by 3.1 times
Over three quarters of this year, the volume of transactions in corporate securities in Azerbaijan amounted to about 3.5 billion manat, which is 3.1 times more than in the comparable period of 2013. The state is the first violinist in the formation of supply and demand in this market segment.
The main part of the volume of transactions in corporate securities fell on bonds - 2.5 billion manat, which is 3.6 times higher than the figure for the same period last year. This year, were placed bonds of the state JSC Southern Gas Corridor. At the same time one of the most popular market instruments are bonds of Azerbaijan Mortgage Fund, which in spite of the low interest rate, are popular on the secondary market of financial institutions.
It is noteworthy that this year the placement of corporate bonds (118 million manat), which were issued in local currency, decreased by 28%.
This year's positive trend is demonstrated by the stock market (527 million manat). From the beginning, the turnover amounted to 975 million manat, which is 2.2 times more than in the first nine months of 2013. Action was taken for a total nominal value of 930 million manat. Meanwhile, the secondary market share was 44.9 million manat, which accounts for 85% (3,761) of transactions. There was a decrease by 64%.
Total based on government securities (Treasury bonds and notes of the Central Bank), the securities turnover in Azerbaijan in the first nine months of 2014 for more than 5 thousand transactions was 7.5 billion manat. This is 2 billion AZN or 37% more than in the comparable period of 2013. --08D--

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
