Customs Officials from Around World Gather in Baku
Tomorrow in the capital of Azerbaijan will start a three-day tenth annual meeting of the program of research and professionalism in the field of customs (PICARD) World Customs Organization (WCO).
The organizer of the event is the State Customs Committee. The meeting will be held September 8-10 in Gulustan Palace with the participation of 241 representatives from 53 countries plus representatives of 21 international and regional organizations," the information on the SCC website says.
There's also pointed out that the meeting will be opened by the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Abid Sharifov and the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization Kunio Mikuriya, who today was received by the President of the country.
On the eve of the meeting a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between SCC and WCO on commissioning the Dog Training Center of the Customs Committee as Regional Dog Training Center of the World Customs Organization.
After the completion of the event on September 11, it is expected to hold an official opening ceremony of the regional office of the International Network of Customs Universities (INCU). --17D-
