The State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan did not count extracted oil for $ 618 million
The State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan has published data on oil and gas in the country by the end of 2012.
According to the document, in 2012, Azerbaijan produced 43 million tons of oil, which is 5.3% less than in 2011.
However, immediately catches the eye the inaccuracy with which the State Committee estimated the production volume of raw materials: these are rounded, so that after million tons thousands are lost.
But on the website of the State Committee it is pointed out that in 2011 Azerbaijan extracted from the bowels 45.626 million tons of oil. And if last year, production actually was 43 million tons, it is at 2.626 million tons or 5.75% less than the level of the year before. And if the production fell by 5.3%, this means that in 2012 the country produced 43.208 million tons of oil, and not 43 million. That's the mess that turned out...
But that's not all: on December 30, 2012 the President of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev, speaking on the SOCAR events of the year, said that in 2012, the production of "black gold" was 43.9 million tons. That is, it was at 900,000 tons more than indicated by the State Committee on Statistics.
Thus, it is unknown where are the 900,000 tons reported in official statistics. With the average annual cost of the Azerbaijani oil brand Azeri Light at $ 110 per barrel, the amount of "hidden" volume of oil was $ 618.7 million.
A similar situation happened with gas. The State Committee on Statistics at publicizing data on the gas trade volume had it at 17.2 billion m3, which grew 5.4%. And according to the Statistical Office, in 2011, the country received 16.361 billion m3 of gas. That means the volumes of marketable gas production increased by 839 million m3, or 5.13%. In this case the index of the State Committee was lower by 0.9%.
All in all, according to the President of SOCAR, 27.9 billion m3 of gas was produced. As follows from the report of the State Committee, 10.7 billion m3 of gas was included in the category of technical gas, which was used for injection into oil reservoirs to increase the production rate. But was it really? This is the question. -0 -
