"Musavat" condemns the seizure of property not belonging to the fined activists
On Tuesday "Musavat" party issued a statement due to the seizure of property in the apartment of Isa Gambar, the leader of the opposition organization.
The authors of the statement note that on February 19 the court officers came to the apartment of Gambarli and began to make inventory. The reason was the hat his son, Turgut Gambar, refused to pay fine for participating in unauthorized rally on 12 and 26 January. Turgut Gambar was to pay AZN 500 for participation in the first campaign, and 2500 - for participation in the second. Court officers were explained that the property in the apartment does not belong to Turgut Gambar, a member of the civil Movement NIDA, and he was not registered at this address. However, the bailiffs have ignored it.
The statement says that lately in Baku bailiffs have taken similar steps, breaking into houses of participants who did not want to pay the fines. In this case, the bailiffs did not find out, whether the property is owned by persons subject to a fine or not. Among them is Tural Abbasly, the leader of the youth organization "Musavat", an activist of the organization Elchin Dzharullazade, Ulvi Hasanli, an activist of the organization “Free Youth”, leader of the youth organization of the PPFA, Abulfaz Gurbanli.
Authors of the statement regard d the parliament's decision to increase the amount of the fine to "unimaginable size as a manifestation of political repression in order to prevent this kind of blackmail and political activity in the country." "Musavat" demands an immediate end the "tyranny and lawlessness." -05D04-
