Defense Version of Death of Soldier Imanov Not Confirmed (video)
Another scandal involving the death of a soldier came from Imishli.
Earlier, the press service of the Defense Ministry reported that on the morning of April 6 in one of the military units in Tartar district, soldier Elman Imanov, shot himself with his service gun. It was not specified whether it was suicide or careless handling of weapons.
The body of Elman Imanov was delivered, in a zinc coffin, to his home in the village of Khalfali, Imishli on April 7. It is noteworthy that the coffin was brought by three soldiers from neighboring units and not from the one in which he served. A taxi driver from the Tartar told the parents of the soldier's death.
Eyewitnesses told Turan, that the local police, led by the regional police chief Vagif Muslumov unsuccessfully tried not to let relatives open the coffin. After opening, the inspection revealed the head of the deceased to have a deep knife wound, and the body had no gunshot wound.
Police prevented the photographing and video of the body, including journalists. An exception was made for television correspondent ANS.
The father of the dead soldier Yaqub Imanov said that on the day of the death his son was the first razvodiastchy on guard. "Elman recently finished NCO courses and did not complain about the service," he said.
Yaqub Imanov intends to seek from the highest authorities of the objective investigation into the death of his son.
