Istanbul/28.05.20/Turan: On the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Istanbul's three bridges and the historic Galata Tower, which connect the continents of Europe and Asia, were illuminated with the colors of the Azerbaijani flag.
The Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Istanbul told Turan that the lighting of the bridges and the historic tower was first raised by the Consulate General on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic.
The initiative was supported by the Turkish Foreign Ministry, the Istanbul Governor's Office, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Infrastructure, and the Istanbul bridges connecting Europe and Asia in 2018-2019 were illuminated with the colors of the tricolor flag of Azerbaijan.
This year, the Consulate General proposed to illuminate the historic Galata Tower in the center of Istanbul, which is the most visited by foreign tourists, in three colors, and the proposal was accepted by the above-mentioned organizations.
Istanbul bridges were illuminated in blue, red and blue in the evening of May 27. On May 28, in addition to the bridges, the historic Galata Tower will be illuminated with the colors of the Azerbaijani flag.
It should be noted that so far the bridges of Istanbul have not been allowed to be illuminated with the colors of the flag of any country. At the initiative of the Consulate General of Istanbul, this exception was recognized only in Azerbaijan. –0—
