Baku / 22.05.19 / Turan: The General Directorate for Combating Corruption under the General Prosecutor investigated the violations of the law revealed in 2015-2018 in tax authorities, reads a joint statement by the press services of the Prosecutor General"s Office and the Ministry of Taxes.
In particular, law enforcement officers were suspicious of committing unlawful acts on the part of the senior state tax inspector of Territorial Department No. 2 of the Ministry of Taxes, Mahir Abdurahmanov.
He was suspected of understating tax collections and state duties received from the financial departments of the Khiza and Siyazan regions for 511,000 manats, processing these funds to the personal accounts of individual taxpayers, collecting this money in cash and misappropriating them.
In fact, a lawsuit was filed under the Article 179.4 (assignment with damage on a large scale) and 308.2 (abuse of power) of the Criminal Code.
Lawsuits have been filed also against other employees of various territorial departments of the Ministry of Taxes Eldaniz Azizov, Valeh Gasymov, Elnur Masimov, and Ziya Pashayev.
Four employees were dismissed from the tax service and another four were suspended from office.
The investigation continues; measures are being taken to establish and bring to justice the entire circle of perpetrators. -06D--
