Media Review October 31, 2019
Creation of new jobs, conditions for retirement of the population, and the situation in the sphere of business are the topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about improving the welfare of the population as a result of measures taken by the state in the social sphere. These are two social packages covering 4 million 200 thousand people, and an increase of almost 2 times the minimum wage, and an increase of more than 70% of the minimum pension. The development of entrepreneurship creates the conditions for the creation of new jobs. In recent years, 80% of new jobs have been in the private sector. As of October 1, the number of private entrepreneurs in the country exceeded 903 thousand, the number of able-bodied people is 5,195.3 thousand people, of which 4,943.6 thousand are employed people.
The Bizimyol.info website is discussing retirement difficulties with the expert Vugar Bayramov. With the increase from October 1 of the minimum pensions from 160 to 200 manat, covering 660 thousand people, the required minimum pension capital for retirement has also increased. Currently, to retire, you need either a 25-year insurance experience or a minimum pension capital of 28,800 manat. If a citizen has worked for 25 years and accumulated 28,800 manat of capital, then in this case he gets the right to retire. Otherwise, he will not have such a right. It is understandable that gaining such an amount will not be easy. Pension reforms in Azerbaijan do not imply allocating pension funds from the state budget, but issue it through savings. Experts suggest that the state take on 40% of the financing of pension capital.
The website Moderator.az discusses with the expert Vugar Bayramov the situation with the business and related problems. According to the expert, one of the problems is the shadow economy, which does not create conditions for free competition of entrepreneurs. Another problem is monopolies. One more problem is the interference of officials in the economy, which is an obstacle to the development of entrepreneurship. The expert believes that staffing reforms and creating favorable conditions for entrepreneurship are needed to resolve the problems. An important issue is the creation of a fast-reacting managerial apparatus that defines the problems of entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs do not have access to soft loans. Entrepreneurship development continues to be a priority issue. -0-
