Muslim month of Ramadan Started

Baku / 06.05.19 / Turan: On May 6, the 9th month, Ramadan, according to the Muslim calendar Hijra, began. During the holy Ramadan, Muslims hold a fast called Oruj - refraining from eating food and drinking fluids during the daytime.

Oruj contributes to moral cleansing, physical health, and alienation from bad habits. Man learns stamina, endurance, and overcoming temptations.

The month of Ramadan ends with the holiday Eid-al-Fitr, which this year falls on June 4-5.
