Russian MP congratulates Turan news agency on Press Day
Baku/22.07.18/Turan: Dmitry Savelyev, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, head of the Russia-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group congratulated the Turan Information Agency on the Day of the National Press of Azerbaijan.
"I congratulate you and the editorial office of the Independent Information Agency Turan on a professional holiday. You successfully fulfill your mission, using the deserved trust and respect of the widest audience. I express special gratitude to you for your cooperation in deepening productive Russian-Azerbaijani relations and I wish you inspiration and creative achievements," the message says.
Director of Turan News agency, Mehman Aliyev, expressed gratitude in connection with the congratulation, noting that the national press originates from the first printed newspaper "Ekinchi" (Sower). Its founder and only editor was an Azerbaijani journalist, graduate of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of Moscow University, Hasan-bek Zardabi, who was influenced by the popular ideas of "Narodnichestvo" (Popularizing the peasantry, and anti-Marxism).
Aliyev noted that in the subsequent development of Azerbaijani journalism at all stages of development took place in correlation with the Russian journalist tradition, which continues to this day.
He wished the establishment of an independent, quality, self-sufficient Russian press and interaction with the journalistic community for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
"I also wish success to your interparliamentary efforts to develop friendly relations between Russia and Azerbaijan," noted Mehman Aliyev in the response letter. -0--
