The National Council criticizes the government’s economic policy
The socio-political situation in Azerbaijan, the consequences of the financial and economic crisis, growing poverty, and the problem of political prisoners were discussed yesterday at a meeting of the Coordinating Center of the National Council of Democratic Forces. The panelists stated the errors of the financial and credit policy of the government that has put people in debt to banks.
The situation is exacerbated by the lack of well thought-out program of the government to extricate the country from the economic crisis.
The participants criticized measures of government borrowing from international financial organizations under the high (6-7%), while the country's currency reserves are placed abroad under the scanty percent.
It was also noted that despite the release of 16 political prisoners in March, dozens of activists and journalists are still in prison, and noted the selectivity of the pardon that did not spread to the PPFA activists.
The National Council also condemned the ban to leave the country by the writer Akram Aylisli.-06D--

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
