The Supreme Court adjourned the consideration of cases of oppositionists Murad Adilov and Seymour Hazy
The consideration of the appeal of the youth activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) Murad Adilov scheduled for April 13 in the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan n did not take place. The trial was adjourned for April 15 because Ilham Jafarov's judge is on a business trip, said the lawyer Yalcin Imanov. For this reason the consideration of the complaint of the journalist Seymour Hazy was postponed for 15 April.
Murad Adilov was arrested in August 2014, and was subsequently sentenced to six years in prison on charges of drug possession. He rejected the accusation and said that he is being persecuted for political reasons, for opposition activities and journalistic work of his brother Natig Adilov. The latter is the announcer of the TV program "Azerbaijani hour", which is broadcast by satellite from abroad. It sharply criticized regime in Azerbaijan.
Hazy is also announcer of the same TV program. He was also arrested in August 2014, and sentenced to 5 years' imprisonment on charges of hooliganism. Both young men are recognized by local and international human rights organizations as the political prisoners. -06B--
