Baku / 01/18/19 / Turan: Three tax inspectors of the Baku Department of Work with Small Businessmen have been arrested for bribery, the Ministry of Taxes and the Prosecutor General"s Office said in a joint report.
Two inspectors, Elchin Gaybaliyev and Ziad Latifov, received a bribe from the seller of the store, where imported cigarettes without excise stamps were found. Taking 1,000 manat, the inspectors underestimated the volume of illegal products so as not to bring the seller to criminal liability.
In fact, a lawsuit under the Article 311.3.1 of the Criminal Code (taking bribes by a group of persons by prior agreement) was filed.
In another case, the fact of fraud by inspector Aga Mammadov, who received 2,700 manat from the managers of several firms, promising to write off the existing tax debt of 5,700 manat, was revealed.
A lawsuit has been filed under the Articles 178.2.3 (fraud with the use of official position) and 308.1 (abuse of official position).
All three inspectors have been arrested by the court decision, said in a statement. -02D-
