What will be the salary of MPs?
Today the first deputy chairman of the Milli Majlis Ziyafet Askerov reported MP salary increase . In an interview with reporters , he said that the excitement in the society, caused by rising salaries of members of parliament " is unfounded because their wages did not rise for a long time."
At the same time, he said nothing about the ratio of growth of salaries of deputies and government employees .
For clarity, the agency Turan compared the level of increase in teachers' salaries ( the average salary - 170 manats ) , physicians ( average salary - 150 manats ) and MPs.
So, budget workers from September 1 received bonuses of 10%, which on average amounted to 18-20 manats.
The salary of the head of parliament from December 1 is to increase by AZN 300 from the current 1,950, the salary of the same Ziyafet Askerov - by 270 manats from the current 1,755 , and the salary of the Vice-chairmen - by 262.5 manat from 1,650.
On December 1, the salaries of the chairmen of parliamentary committees will increase by 240 manats, and their deputies - by 225 manats. Ordinary MPs will also join the personal budget - plus 210 manat from the current 1,365.
In other words, any bonus to the salary of the "public servants" is much higher than the salary of most state employees. Given the charges, including travel, subsistence, hospital and others, parliamentarians will get at least 10 times more than their constituents.
This issue will be tabled in Parliament in the framework of changes in the AR Law "On the status of deputies of Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic." There is no doubt that the MPs will vote for the positive change.
Experts believe that this is only the beginning of inflation, falling real incomes of the population and a collapse in consumer prices. - 17D-
