Azerbaijan to supply 1 billion cubic meters of gas to Romania in 2023-2024
Baku/03.02.23/Turan: On Friday, SOCAR and Romanian Romgaz signed an agreement on gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Romania in 2023-2024.
"On February 3, as part of the 9th meeting of the Advisory Council on the Southern Gas Corridor project, an agreement on the supply of gas from Azerbaijan to Romania in the amount of up to 1 billion cubic meters (bcm) during 2023-2024 was signed," statement of SOCAR.
This agreement is a continuation of the documents signed between SOCAR and "Romgaz S.A." October 19 and December 16, 2022.
The signed documents, “along with expanding the geography of Azerbaijani gas exports, will make an important contribution to the further strengthening of cooperation between the countries, as well as to the energy security of Europe and the green energy strategy.
According to Romanian media, the gas supply contract covers the period from April 1, 2023 to April 1, 2024.
Azerbaijan already supplies gas to the EU countries - Greece, Bulgaria and Italy via the TAP pipeline and Romania will become a new destination for exports to Europe. ---06B---
