Cashless payments will not grow
BAKU/10.04.14/TURAN : Level of cashless payments in Azerbaijan is at a very low level , which is clearly seen in the comparative analysis of the share of non-cash settlements of Azerbaijan, Belarus and Ukraine.
According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan , last year 5.8 million holders of plastic cards carried 67.8 million transactions totaling about $ 10.3 billion manat. Central Bank of Azerbaijan for the first time in 2005-2007, implemented the state program of development of national payment systems. The second state program to promote cashless payment covers the period 2012-2016 . Over the past four years, the share of non-cash payments in the total rose by only 3 percentage points. Pace to the current level of Belarus, the country will reach at best in 12-15 years.
